MH370: Aviation Industry's Response

Two years after the disappearance of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370, global aviation regulators and the airline industry are working to improve aircraft tracking systems. The European Union plans to impose mandatory flight-tracking, while the International Civil Aviation Organization has set this November as the deadline for airlines to install tracking technology.

We explore technology which can improve the tracking and finding of missing aircraft, and the challenges faced in finding a balance between adopting the best tracking systems, versus the airline industry’s need to reduce costs.
