Last night, Indonesia’s outgoing President, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, invited presidential candidates Prabowo Subianto and Joko Widodo to join him to break fast at the State Palace. Reflecting the just concluded but divisive Presidential elections, he is reported to have said ‘that’s … maintaining a peaceful and democratic election is the responsibility of us all…” Tomorrow the official results will be known, though at this point both the Quick Counts and the actual tallies point to a clear win for Joko Widodo, affectionately known as Jokowi. Will the loser concede or is Indonesia facing more uncertainty and instability?
