According to recent research, it is estimated that lost revenue to online TV and movie piracy will nearly double to almost $52 billion by 2022. While consumers may think they stand to gain than lose from piracy, the reality is that revenue loss for content creators may impact the creative process and provide consumers with less choice. We speak to Jay Ganesan from Irdeto about the risks and negative impact of piracy on content creation and what content owners / operators can do to curb piracy.
