S1E04 - Behind A Film

Unpacking Malaysian Cinema is an 8-part series that discusses relevant issues facing Malaysian film industry as told by filmmakers drawing on archival recordings and new interviews.

The teams who work behind the scenes often go unacknowledged in the focus on stars and big names. Straddling creative work and trades with casual or project work, crews are often in a precarious position. This episode, we explore some of the labor issues that crews have experienced, discuss about some of the debates, and seek for some ways in which crews can be supported.
