Roy Hargrove was recognised by many for leading the 1990s jazz rejuvenation with on-stage energy, influences of American pop and bebop, and notable collaborations with other artists such as Erykah Badu and D’Angelo. These days, it’s hard to find a musician who will blow the trumpet with as much tempest and vitality as Hargrove.
