Sulaiman Azmil

Sulaiman Azmil, Comedian

03-Aug-15 20:00

Sulaiman Azmil

Tonight we have a rather special comedian in the studio tonight. He’s a man who’s a lawyer by day and cracks jokes about his Nusantara adventures, Sulaiman Azmil! We find out when he’s out of the courtroom, would sir still speaketh the truth?

Sulaiman’s comedy started like a fabled tale. Like any other Malaysian tale, it involves getting lost on our roads. He missed a turn in in Sri Hartamas and ended up doing his first-ever stand-up comedy set on Comedy Kao Kao at Publika instead of dining al fresco at a restaurant in Plaza Mont Kiara.

Sulaiman’s humour is all Inspired by the penglipur lara of yore, nothing pleases him more than to share anecdotes of his travels and misadventures in the Nusantara, his trials and travails as a tax-paying Bumiputera. He’s own observations and twists are hilarious reminder of the world we live in and how much of a caricature it has become.

He has performed all over KL, PJ, Penang till he found himself in Hanoi and Singapore performing his stories and jokes for all to hear and chuckle about. Speaking of performing, Sulaiman was a member and also the host for a six-comic ensemble titled The Dirty Half Dozen where he was noted by this review for having balls.

You can catch Sulaiman whether at the Comedy Crackhouse, Sure Laugh One (TTDI’s monthly comedy show) or even later from 16th to 25th September as Sulaiman would be performing for Harith Iskander’s Kuala Lumpur International Comedy Fest 2015 at any of these places!

For the record, Sulaiman scored 11!
