Keith Foo

Tonight we have a man who came from Gemas, spent a decade in Indonesia, got into a 224 episode long show only to return to Malaysia with a slew of premiere acting roles. His name is Keith Foo and he speaks seven languages!

He started out doing commercials at the young age of 14 and continued as he moved to KL when he was 17. When he turned 21, Keith received an offer for a toothpaste commercial in Indonesia. He took this opportunity and moved to Indonesia to hit it big at acting.

It wasn’t  smooth sailing for Keith early on, he was a struggling actor during his first few years, sharing accommodation and sleeping on sofas were a daily occurrence. Furthermore, to break into the Indonesian scene, Keith had to learn Bahasa Indonesian slang and had to work hard to make it sound natural. His big break was in 2009 when he was picked for a low budget horror movie Mati Suri. By 2010 he’d received a part in the massive 244-episode drama Cinta Dan Anugerah.

Keith decided to return to Malaysia as he wished to spend more time with his family. It wouldn’t be for another 5 years until he hit his stride in the Malaysian scene, with roles in Ariana Rose and Love You Mr Arrogant. Both shows had a total of a 9.1 million viewership. Earlier in September, Keith starred in the movie Girlfriend Kontrak.

Keith’s next big thing is a leading role in Langit Cinta. A movie directed by Osman Ali of Ombak Rindu fame.

For the record, Keith scored 11!
