H3

Tonight, we have a local DJ producer who’s gonna be hitting it big opening for Skrillex later this month; he’s the one and only, H3!

When the DJ decks aren’t in his presence, his real name is Harith Hisham Hashim. H3 is known for his heavy almost schizophrenic-like DJ style where he jumps between 3-4 types of genre in one set. Changing up the tempo, pace and how hard the bass would hit for his audience’s euphoria.

H3’s story started off in 2007 where he came in for Mixing In Action’s monthly Saturday full-house parties at Bukit Bintang. He notes how frightening it was to do your first ever DJ set to a packed room but friends were there to give him all the support. Immediately he was hooked and in 2009, he honed into the genre of bass music. He craved an image and sound of dubstep, moombahton and trap for his listeners.

By 2012, H3 launched his first single, Feel It and it climbed to the #1 spot on Hitz.fm’s Malaysian English Top 10 chart. Soon, arguably his best remix track to date, Why Can’t You (Say So) was widely featured on internet publications and has spawned its own music video, aired on MTV.

He will be opening for Skrillex at KL Live on the 23rd September. H3 also did a pre-launch for his upcoming album STVRGATE (pronounced Stargate). The album will be officially launched this November. H3 gave us an exclusive listen to his second single titled Syren.

For the record, H3 scored 22!
