Dominic Luk, Musical Theatre Practitioner

15-Dec-15 20:00

Dominic Luk

Dominic Lucien Luk is in love with musical theatre and he loves making magic happen on stage. He is the co-owner and creative director of Monday Show Entertainment, a company focusing on the education of musical theatre in KL.  It’s what he had always dreamt of doing for a long time. It’s sort of like ‘The Secret’ – He remembers walking along the streets of New York thinking that one day, he’ll have a school of his own that’ll train more people to sing, dance, and act, and to love doing all these three things on stage, professionally. Well, what can we say, ‘The Secret’ worked for him.

Dominic also performs, and has acted in shows like A Language of Their Own, Broadway Bites, Kiss of the Spider Woman, and in February 2016, he will be performing in a 90-minute monologue called The Weight of Silk on Skin.

Dominic studied music and performing arts at LASALLE College of the Arts in Singapore, and later on got his MA in musicology and gender studies at Brandeis University in Boston while also getting training in choral conducting at Harvard University Music Department. Dominic loves teaching, and currently is a part-time lecturer at UiTM and UPM. He also regularly conducts musical theatre workshops and master classes.
