Benjamin Yong

Tonight, we were joined by the founder of the Bright Ideas Group, Benjamin Yong. Possibly the only man in Malaysia who holds the title ‘Chief Eating Officer’, Benjamin finds free time for us to talk about food, weddings and even cute plush toys on Instagram.

Humbly started his adventure by making carrot cakes and selling it off to friends and cafes all over. Admitted the ingredients costed about RM13 and managed to sell it off for RM60, it's clear this is a man where entrepreneurship is finely embedded in his veins even if you don’t consider his family line.

Even so, Benjamin would want to remind everyone that money is not his key reason but it is for the love of good food that is the main driver for all of his ventures. Benjamin has made food that has never been seen out of a hotel, served to the general public with affordable prices. Much lauded as the Ferran Adrià of Malaysia, Benjamin is the man you’d talk about when considering a place to eat!

For the record, Benjamin scored 7
