Altimet

He is not called Altimet for nothing. Whether busting rhymes as an MC, producing tracks, composing music or writing lyrics, Altimet delivers hot hits. Famed for his sharp rapping skills, he is deemed “Malaysia’s MC’s MC” by his peers.

In January 2009 Altimet was crowned Best Hip-Hop Solo Act at the Voize Independent Music Awards [VIMA 2008] and won Song of the Year for his track ‘Chantek’. This was not the first recognition for his fine work at an award show. In 2004 and 2005, his hip-hop group ‘Teh Tarik Crew’ received several award nominations for their albums ‘How’s The Level?’ and ‘What’s Next?’ at the Anugerah Industri Muzik [AIM] – Malaysia’s most prestigious music awards.

He is an award-winning rapper, live entertainer, songwriter, producer, television and live events host. Ahmad bin Abdul Rahman, is recognized as an industry mover and among the “individuals who are shaping Malaysia” in the August Man magazine in 2010.

Indeed such recognition can be seen from his strong presence at award shows, most notably his historical Top 3 placing at Anugerah Juara Lagu-28 for “Kalau Aku Kaya”. This ground-breaking achievement is especially noteworthy for being the first time in Malaysian music history that the hip-hop genre has achieved a Top 3 placement at this prestigious award show.

Altimet’s experience as a professional live entertainer is second to none with over a decade’s worth of quality performances from the smallest of gigs to prestigious concerts and awards shows. He is also especially known for his extensive repertoire of published musical works, amassing a jaw dropping seven #1 hit singles nationwide over the last five years.
