DUIs and a Sales Tax Holiday for Cars

This week, Cruise Control catches up on the news as the auto industry begins its first steps towards recovery.  Locally, there's also been lots of talk around several fatal drunk driving incidents, raising further questions about Malaysia's lack of attention to an underreported problem. More recently, the government also launched the National Economic Recovery Plan (PENJANA), with the automotive industry purportedly being the biggest beneficiary, receiving sales tax exemptions for both CKD and CBU, in order to stimulate the economy.
