The Needle Drop

A Bit of Culture returns with another thematic episode - music! BFM producer Julian Yap teams up with folk rocker Azmyl Yunor and our cultured host Kam Raslan to talk all things music. The show begins with Julian sharing how detached she is from the spectacle and hype of music videos until recently. Azmyl then talks about the relationship musicians have with places and how they should not shy away from writing music about where they’re from. In the second part of the show, Kam speaks about the needle drop - no, not about The Internet's Busiest Music Nerd, but rather the movie scoring method where directors use existing pieces of music, rather than original scores.

Produced by: Haniff Baharudin

Presented by: Kam Raslan
