Bank Negara Malaysia's approval for the Sarawak government's acquisition of a majority stake in Affin Bank, follows the Borneo island's plans to become an aviation hub as well as its commitment to provide free tertiary education to Sarawakians. Dr Paul Anthony, Program Coordinator, School of Accounting and Finance, Taylors University, helps us understand the strategies behind the state's to improve its economy, finances and welfare for its people.
