Can New Laws Help Speed Up Inner City Redevelopment?

Minister of Local Government Development (KPKT) Nga Kor Ming said in Kuala Lumpur alone, there are 139 aged and poorly maintained properties that require redevelopment. And his ministry is pushing for the enactment of a new law that can speed up the redevelopment of old properties. We speak with Au Foong Yee, Editor Emeritus, The Edge on all things urban renewal, inner city development and the role governments and the private sector can and should play in this effort.
