FDV: Fruitful Developing Ventures?

Frontier Digital Ventures (FDV) is focused on investing in online classifieds businesses that are in underdeveloped and emerging countries. Granted there is potential with the digitalisation of ads and growing internet/smartphone penetration… But, are they able to monetize this shift to online ads? While the company’s revenue is up year-on-year, net loss for FY2016 widened nearly 100% to $4.6 million Australian dollars (2015: $2.5 million). From the 13 platforms that it is in, all are making negative EBITDAs for 1H2017.

What is FDV's path to profitability looking like? The company expects some of its investments to turn profitable this year but it will not be enough to bring the group to the black ink in 2018.

Is FDV looking at M&A opportunities given that the company is sitting on cash of some AUD 16 million? (as at September 30, 2017)
