Are Malaysian Companies Behind the Sustainability Curve?

The United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) is the world's largest corporate sustainability initiative, first set up in 2000 to galvanize private sector to prioritize the triple bottom line: people, planet and profits. Some 15,000 companies have signed up to date - however, just over 100 companies are Malaysian. Why has reception been so lacklustre? Faroze Nadar, Executive Director of the UN Global Compact Network for Malaysia & Brunei discusses efforts to convince Malaysian corporates that sustainability is the new imperative.
