Whistleblowing Under The Threat of OSA

The Attorney-General Tan Sri Mohd Apandi Ali recently announced a proposal to amend the Official Secrets Act 1972. According to reports, the increased punishments would include life imprisonment and 10 strokes of the rotan.

 

Eric Paulsen, the executive director of the law reform NGO, Lawyers For Liberty, joins Akmal Nasir, the director of the National Oversight and Whistleblowers Centre (NOW) to explore the scope of the OSA, and the protection accorded to whistleblowers and the media.
