The United States, once a top contributor to the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunisation (Gavi), has withdrawn its funding, raising alarms across the public health world. Professor Dr Abhimanyu Veerakumarasivam, Provost of Sunway Medical School, shares his view about what this means for the world’s most vulnerable children and the fight against future pandemics.
