The Japanese contradiction is leaving many observers scratching their heads: despite its economy falling into a technical recession and weak economic data, the stock market has never been stronger with the Nikkei surpassing 1989 highs. What explains the dissonance between markets and the economy? We ask economist Norihiro Yamaguchi from Oxford Economics for his analysis.
