Digi and Axiata Merger: No Greenlight Just Yet

00:05 - The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has released their guidelines on Mergers and Acquisitions for Telcos, just two weeks after Axiata and Norwegian telco Telenor announced their plans for a mega merger. The assessment by the MCMC is voluntary but Chairman Al-Ishsal Ishak says that it’s imperative for licensees to seek approval from them.

04:05 - The European Commission has introduced a new certification system which restricts the types of biofuels from palm oil that would count as “renewable energy”  and will come into effect on the 10th of June. The EU accounted for 12 percent of Malaysia’s palm oil exports in 2018, making it the biggest buyer after India.
