Are State Elections Happening This Year For Sarawak?

Sarawak is confident in getting 2.2 million of its population vaccinated by August this year but isn’t sure when it can hold its state elections. The state assembly’s term expires on June 6th and a state election will need to be held within 60 days of dissolution. But with an emergency order in place that prevents elections from happening, what option does Sarawak have? For some insight, we speak with Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi, Minister of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs and Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) Secretary-General.
