REITs are under normal circumstances a defensive asset class which provides certainty of earnings and yield. However the KL REIT Index has seen a sharp decline of 19% on a year to date basis. We speak to Chan Jit Hoong, Analyst, Hong Leong Investment Bank for his analysis on why this is so.
