Top 5 at 5: Why is Aid Not Reaching Gaza?

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has claimed that he would allow aid to reach the Gaza strip, but the United Nations said that their aid trucks have not been permitted in. We discuss this situation with Puan Sri Norma Hashim, treasurer of Viva Palestine Malaysia.

Other stories we covered:

• Raising the retirement age: The Minister for Law and Institutional Reform Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said has suggested that the government should consider raising the mandatory retirement age from 60 to 65. Her statement has received backlash. We discuss this with Lily Fu, gerontologist and founder of Seniors Aloud about the contribution of older adults in society.
A new plan to tackle drug abuse: There has been a concern over the rate of drug users in Malaysia, with last year's numbers reported to be over 190,000 users and addicts. The Anti-Drug Communication Plan 2025-2027 has just been approved to tackle this. We talk about this with Dr Sangeeth Kaur, Co-Chair of the Expert Advisory Group on Drug Treatment and Rehabilitation in East and Southeast Asia, United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime.
Erectile dysfunction a growing problem: It's been reported that 32% of Malaysian men from the age of 18 onwards have reported moderate to severe levels of erectile dysfunction. We talk to Dr Ahmad Nazran Fadzli, a senior lecturer and consultant urologist from Universiti Malaya to get a better understanding of this condition.
• Road closures for the ASEAN summit: The 46th Annual ASEAN summit takes place in Kuala Lumpur next week with major road closures expected to start on the 23rd of May. The Bukit Aman’s Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department will deploy 800 officers at their dry run today and tomorrow to simulate the congestion. We cover everything you need to know about the closures and some of the ways to navigate these diversions next week.
