A spate of failed emergency calls, from silent calls to ambulances sent to wrong locations, has forced the Ministry of Health to revert to its previous system. Telekom Malaysia blames a surge in prank calls, but questions remain over accountability and system design. Azrul Mohd Khalib, CEO of the Galen Centre for Health & Social Policy, joins us to unpack what broke down and what we need to strengthen our national emergency network.

We hear from Haresh Deol, editor of TwentyTwo13, on what the freeze means for FAM’s wider programmes.

• The middle finger that cost RM100: A Johor driver has been fined RM100 for allegedly flipping off another motorists. We discuss road rage, and whether a gine is enough to stave it.

• Box jellyfish tragedy in Langkawi: The death of a 2-year-old Russian boy has renewed concern over box jellyfish in Langkawi, despite a drop in annual sting cases.
