Online Scams: What, How and Why

Bursa Malaysia recently issued a warning for the public to be vigilant about online scams, which have been on the rise lately. First, we learn about the different kinds of scams and how to spot them. Then, we find out what to do if you’ve been the victim of a financial scam. Finally, we discuss the psychology behind all this.

To report possible scams, you can:
1. Investment scams: Go to Securities Commission Malaysia

2. Scams related to shares: Reach out to Bursa Malaysia

3. Financial scams: call 1300-88-5465 or email bnmtelelink@bnm.gov.my

4. Commercial scams: Go to the police and also make a report to Companies Commission of Malaysia (CCM)
