Everyone’s A Critic - Unity (1918)

Unity (1918) by Canadian playwright Kevin Kerr tells the story of a small town called Unity in Saskatchewan, Canada, amidst the 1918 flu pandemic that killed an estimated 20-50 million people worldwide - an apt play for our current times, and to reflect on the experiences and lessons of the past year. This Malaysian staging is a recorded performance directed by Tung Jit Yang and co-directed by Dawn Cheong, featuring 11 local actors, and is presented by the Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre. Dashran Yohan of The Bigger Picture team joins us to review the play, and to discuss the power of stories from the past when reflecting on the present.
