Launch Pad is a workshop for established writers that aims to provide a “crash course” in modern astronomy science. Their aim is to teach writers, editors, and those with audiences of all types about modern science, specifically astronomy, and in turn reach their audiences. Their hope is to both educate the public and inspire the next generation of scientists.

This week on Afterwords, Uma speaks to the founder of Launch Pad, Dr. Michael S. Brotherton, about the role that science fact plays in the authoring of science fiction.
