Heidy Quah, Refuge For The Refugees

28-Mar-17 13:30

Refuge for the Refugees

Heidy Quah is an 'average joe' youth from the streets of Petaling Jaya. Who would have thought she co-founded a safehouse for refugees at the age of 17? Refuge for the Refugees (RFTR) stands for the betterment of being educated instead of being exploited. The voluntary organization provides free basic education to about 1500 refugee children in 10 schools across Klang Valley and Penang, with some inroads in Myanmar. We speak to Heidy Quah about being an influence amongst our community and a person who brings dreams into living reality.
