What Goes Into Starting and Growing A Small Business

Melvin Chee , CEO & Co-Founder, RPG Commerce | Nuraizah Shamsul Baharin, Managing Director, MADCash

What Goes Into Starting and Growing A Small Business

In Malaysia, around 60% of SMEs fail within five years of establishment, according to an article by the ASEAN Entrepreneurship Journal. Additionally, only 4 out of 10 SMEs are able to successfully meet the challenges associated with growth. This highlights that the road to a successful business can be a daunting prospect for any aspiring entrepreneur.

Today we take a step back and explore the early days of entrepreneurship, tapping into the personal experience of Melvin Chee, CEO and Cofounder of RPG commerce, who started his journey by buying goods online and selling them to people around him, as well as the experience of Nur-aizah Shamsul Baharin, Managing Director of micro-funding fintech Madcash, who deals with and supports other MSMES.

We tap into their experience of the early days of starting a business, as well as for their advice and insights on how to take a business from 0 to 1.
