The Future of Health: AI, Genomics & Targeted Prevention

What if we could predict and prevent disease outbreaks before they happen? That's the promise of precision public health, a new approach where AI, big data, and digital tools are combining to make population-level healthcare smarter, faster, and more tailored. But as we embrace this data-driven future, how do we navigate the critical ethical questions of privacy, equity, and trust?

Dr. Clive Tan of the Precision Public Health Asia Society and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dhesi Baha Raja of Monash University Malaysia join us to explore this new frontier. They discuss how technology is moving public health from broad policies to targeted interventions, and what it means for everything from managing diabetes to containing dengue.

We discuss:

  • How AI can predict disease outbreaks using non-health data.

  • Integrating data from genomics and wearables for public health insights.

  • The ethical challenges: data privacy, algorithmic bias, and health equity.

  • Real-world examples of precision public health in Malaysia and Asia.

  • What to expect at the Precision Public Health Asia 2025 conference.

For policymakers, healthcare professionals, and tech innovators, this conversation explores the next evolution in preventing disease and improving lives at scale.
