It’s not uncommon for companies, especially within the startup sphere, to brand themselves as “families”. You’ve probably also read it on those witty, casual job postings. But is calling work “a family” really as positive as it sounds? Over the last couple of years, the term has taken on a highly negative connotation, with many calling it one of the more glaring red flags to look out for when seeking a new job.
