Malaysia has had a number of cases spotlighted in the news recently where several industries have had their forced labor issues revealed, and Persatuan Sahabat Wanita Selangor executive director Irene Xavier claims that Malaysia’s economy would worsen if the government does not address the issues faced by migrant workers, including forced labor. How do we move away from our reliance on both forced and foreign labor?
