Could Gig Workers Finally Be Considered Formal Employees?

While gig workers and freelancers continue to play an integral part in the economy, they have yet to enjoy all the perks and benefits that come with being a formal employee of a company - particularly insurance coverage. This could change soon as the federal government tables a landmark amendment Bill that could permanently compel gig-based tech companies to provide their workers with the same rights and privileges as formal employees.
