Smuggled For Its Song - Murai Kampung in Trouble?

The Oriental Magpie-robin species may still be a common sight in our skies, but that could change, if action isn't taken soon. Prized as caged-birds by bird hobbyists because of their beautiful song, there is a high demand for Malaysian populations of these birds domestically and in Indonesia, both of which could be driving high levels of trapping in Malaysia. We discuss why proper regulation is desperately needed, to prevent this species from becoming endangered.
