Light Pollution Disrupts the Ecosystem, Here’s What You Can Do

As the sun sets and darkness falls, we begin switching on lights to illuminate our homes and streets. But as we keep our homes bright throughout the night and the lights get brighter, how often do we spare a thought on how this impacts the wildlife around us? And what will it take for us to stop keeping our nights as bright as day?

Head over to globeatnight.org to learn more about how to be involved in the citizen science project. You can also download the Loss of the Night app (available for Android and iOS devices) on your smartphone or tablet if you're interested in helping out with data collection on how light pollution is impacting the night sky.
