A Dedicated Helpline to Ensure Children’s Safety and Wellbeing

The Human Rights Commission of Malaysia - or SUHAKAM - has urged the government to establish a dedicated helpline to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children. This came amid an increased number of cases involving the physical, sexual, and emotional abuse of children throughout the various MCOs last year. To delve into why a dedicated government helpline is important we’ll be speaking with SUHAKAM’s Children’s Commissioner Professor Datuk Noor Aziah Mohd Awal, as well as Pam Guneratnam the founder of HumanKind, which established Buddy Bear, a helpline for children to talk about their worries and concerns amid the pandemic.
