Updates from Palu

Late last month, a 7.7 richter scale earthquake triggered a tsunami in Palu and Donggala. At last count, more than 1,700 lives were lost with many more injured and unaccounted for, with the total number of people affected estimated at 1.5 million. Dr Shalimar Abdullah, Vice President of Mercy Malaysia and the Emergency Medical Team’s logistic specialist, gives us an update on what’s happening on the ground as the disaster-struck area enters the recovery phase.
