Feminist Fridays #36: #MeToo

The #MeToo movement began when actress Alyssa Milano tweeted, “If all the women who have been sexually harassed or assaulted wrote ‘Me too’ as a status, we might give people a sense of the magnitude of the problem.” What ensued was a global outpouring from people, predominantly women, sharing their own experiences of facing sexual harassment and assault. We speak to Syar S. Alia, Bilqis Hijjas and Lee Chwi Lynn about their thoughts on this movement - a useful campaign that achieved its aim or merely clicktivism? Will this lead to real change?
