The ritual of reading the morning paper and watching the evening news is fast becoming obsolete. As the often repeated Gen-Y saying goes: “If the news is important enough, it will find me.”  On the other hand, the Boston Marathon Bombings in April this year was the first time a major tragedy unfolded in the social media era, leading to misidentified suspects, amateur witch hunts and heightened panic based on unsubstantiated rumors. Is social media an adequate replacement after all? Our resident social media experts Hann and Fei from WAGO tells us more.
