Torture in Syria and The Assad Files

Over five years of a brutal civil war in Syria has killed hundreds of thousands and displaced millions more. Syrian activist Mazen Al Hamada, who barely escaped the war alive, joins us to share his first hand account of the system of detention and interrogation that he and many of his fellow Syrians were subjected to, and to document President Bashar al-Assad’s principal role in all of this.

Salem Ghandour, an advisor with the Syrian Emergency Task Force (SETF) also joined us to discuss how he and other Syrian activists are working to stop the genocide in Syria. Salem also served as a translator for Mazen during the interview.
