Why It Matters To Pick Up Atrial Fibrillation Early

Atrial fibrillation is the most common type of arrhythmia, where someone with this condition has an irregular heart rhythm. If left untreated, it increases your risk of stroke and heart failure. But treatment options for atrial fibrillation have made significant advances - no longer just reliant on blood thinners. We speak to Dr Surinder Kaur Khelae, a senior consultant cardiologist at the National Heart Institute, to find out how a dual-treatment approach is changing the management of AF and thus, changing the quality of life for people with AF.
