Doctor in the House: HPV Vaccination – Malaysia’s Success Story

Dr George Lee returns to discuss the latest medical news. Expect deep insights delivered with generous humour. Since Malaysia’s HPV vaccination programme was introduced in 2010, we have achieved near-universal immunisation, reaching an estimated 250,000 thirteen-year-old girls each year. In conjunction with cervical cancer awareness month in January, we talk to Dr Saidatul Norbaya bt Buang, Public Health Physician from the Family Health Development Division, Ministry of Health, to find out how the government implemented the immunisation programme and how collaborative efforts were key to its success.
