Doctor in the House: Banning Cigarettes For A New Generation of Adults

Starting next year, an entire generation of young adults may not be allowed to buy or own cigarettes, e-cigarettes and vapes for the rest of their lives. This proposed ban would also apply to the teenagers and children who turn 18 after next year, in a move dubbed as ‘Generational End Game’ by the Ministry of Health. Will banning smoking for an entire generation - and those to come after them - finally be able to end smoking addiction among our population, and prevent the multitude of health problems linked to smoking? We find out from Dr Helmy Haja Mydin, Consultant Respiratory Physician, and technical advisor to MOH on tobacco control.
