Bina Ramanand - Fighting For Rights of Binational Families!

In December 2020, Family Frontiers filed a constitutional challenge with the High Court, seeking a declaration that Malaysian women married to foreign spouses can automatically confer citizenship on their children who are born overseas. As it stood, Malaysia was one of 25 countries that deny women and men equal right to confer nationality on their children. However, in a landmark ruling yesterday, the High Court declared that children born overseas to Malaysian moms are also eligible for citizenship.

Joining us on the show today is Bina Ramanand, co-founder of Family Frontiers and one of the activists who has been working incredibly hard for more than a decade on issues pertaining to the rights of families in transnational & Binational marriages.
